Providing Comfort & Care for Pediatric ENT Patients
ENT Associates of Savannah is experienced in dealing with children before, during, and after ENT surgery. Some of our more frequent pediatric ENT surgical procedures are:
- Tonsillectomy
- Adenoid removal
- Ear tubes
We understand surgery can be an intimidating thought for children. That’s why we strive to make our surgical center kid-friendly and non-threatening. Our doctors and nurses focus on educating children before their procedure to set them at ease. Children can also bring a comfort toy back to surgery with them before anesthesia. Plus, they can ride in a red wagon from the waiting room to the pre-op area, making the trip to surgery an exciting ride instead of a scary walk. We do everything we can to create a connection with the children and help them relax before surgery.
For the Grown-Ups
On the day of your child’s surgery, paperwork should be completed ahead of time. This helps speed up the process when you visit for the surgery. All that’s needed is to check-in, verify insurance, and wait until our medical team is ready for your child’s procedure.
Our staff will clearly communicate what needs to be done for your child’s post-operation treatment. We provide a list of things your child can and cannot eat and drink. Following the doctor’s guidelines can help speed up the recovery process.
